A search of the NSW Birth, Death and Marriages Registrar will be most helpful to you.

Scroll down and click on Online Historical Indexes

Look at FamilySearch - LDS Database online to see if any of your JACKSON and MOXONs are there.

Hello Allycat I have tried that as that is where I got most of the information regarding the Jacksons but as birth only goes upto 1908 I am having a hard time finding the information I am after. I have also looked in LDS Database online got the families from around the late 1800's. Thank you Robin

Dear Robin,

Another great site for us Aussies is RootsChat free site, register as a new user, have same username as here in case someone is looking for you. Scroll down to their 'Research in Other Countries' board and click on 'Australia' and create a new topic. Has births lookups after 1905 and up to 1918/1919 and possibly 1920 even.

Another way around finding your family is by contacting/joining up with the local family history societies in the area/s that your relatives lived to see if there are records. I would especially try your MOXOM relatives and work downwards in the tree.

Also, think about having your family tree online. You may even find you have half brothers and sisters out there. Go for GenesReunited and put your biological family on there. It's not a free site, but annual fee is quite reasonable.

Ancestry.com.au - Australian Electoral Rolls 1901 to 1936 can sometimes come in handy too.

Let me know how you get on.

Alison.

I belong to genesreunited, Rootsweb, genforum, australiansurnamesgroup.yuku, ancestry as well also a few others like gencircles.com, have tried all the sites even looking for adopted father's family as they came from England, and settled in Sth Australia. I have found more information on my adopted mother's side than I have on the father's side. Regards Robin
