Have you tried the Staffordshire Board at RootsChat.com ?

You can post a census lookup request e.g. "1851 Census Lookup Request please ALLEN family from Rowley Regis" as your subject heading in your 'new topic', which is like a journal here on familytreecircles.

You should find your ancestor with his parents and siblings on the 1851 Census, listing father's and sometimes mother's occupation, ages of siblings, dwelling, etc.

Then once you have this information you can trace the family and their descendants on the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and finally 1901 Census, all at rootschat.

Parish records should also be searchable if you follow the links there, and or post lookup requests. Hopefully you can find the parents' marriage.
