Tip: As KELLY is such a common and popular surname, try searching for your Great Grandfather. Don't forget to search the maternal lines also.

In Maori Whakapapa one will find many, many Kelly family's.
Weather they all came from the same parents many years ago I have know idea.
Some of the Maori Kelly's family's that I'm awhere of came from Ngati Kahungunu tribe of Napier, above Napier is Tarawhiti Gisborne unsure of the tribal area name as there were many.
The other is Waikato, Tainui Hamilton.
There are many Kelly's living in the Waikato and it's districts.

Hey Kevin, I am also from the Cape Breton Kelly's. If you have dates for the people you mentioned in your post or, great grandparents, I may be able to connect you to my own research, and then I can give you a better idea of your family history. Although I have checked the names you mentioned and they do not appear on my tree, and my family is mainly from Louisbourg, I can still check if you want.

Hi Kevin, hope your reseach is going well.the reason i am responding is because, my grandparents are from Cape Breton, my mother's mother was born Mary E. Hill. Dec.25,1885,I ran her name and nothing was found but a record or land that was given to her for either her grandfather, or father, named Cheif Hill a red man, I do not think that there could have been two babies with the same name and birth date, so i am asuemming(excuse my spelling) that she may have been native/scottish decent,I know that she use to drive a wagon train form Canada to New York and Massachuttes.when she was around 13yrs old and drove a loggen truck later on,
She married Alex j. McIntyre. and at some point live in Boston Mass. where i Was born and raised. I don't know if we are connected or not but wanted to shear with some one from there. I want to go to Cape Breton, to see where she lived and to just feel what it was like for her back then.

Thanks for taking time to read. Leone
