the MASTERTON, Wairarapa - District High School Exam Passes 1902

ANNUAL EXAMINATION
The annual examination was completed by Inspectors Fleming and Bakewell on Thursday monrnng.

* 24 April 1918 ... At the residence of the bride's parents yesterday, Miss Evelyn Margaret Elliott, second daughter of Mr and Mrs James Elliott, was united in matrimony to Arthur Henry Reid Falloon, youngest son of Mr and Mrs H. Falloon, of Wangaehu. The bride was attended by her sisters, the Misses Maude and Constance Elliott, and the bridegroom by Messrs G. Elliott and W. Kirker. The Rev J. A. Hosking was the officiating minister. At the wedding breakfast the usual felicitous toasts were proposed and responded to. The numerous wedding presents were useful and costly, and testified to the popularity of the newly-wedded couple. The happy pair left on their honeymoon trip by motor car for a tour of the Taranaki district

... Henry Reid Falloon (born 1922) was Flight Sergeant (Navigator) 423939 during WWII with 582 (RAF) Squadron Royal New Zealand Air Force. He was killed 23 April 1944 in France
- Arthur Henry Reid Falloon died 22 Oct 1947 aged 56. He was cremated at Karori

- a son of Myrtle & Livingstone, Ian James Shaw BSc, PhD, OBE, CMG, was a passenger on the "Rangitane" which was a victim of the enemy German raider, the "Orion" in Dec 1940. He had not long obtained his B.Sc. degree and was on his way to England. He was not found amongst the resuced on the Island of Emirau in the Bismarck Group which then landed in Australia. He was in fact, a prisoner of war for 5 years in various war camps in Germany, including the notorious Stalag Luft III
- Myrtle died 28 April 1953 aged 64 in Auckland & cremated at Waikumete
- Livingstone died 20 Sep 1958 in Auckland aged 67 & cremated at Purewa
