It looks like Aquilla (not Aguilla) Purtee (1788-1855) is our common ancestor--he is my GG Grandfather. Your line is descended from his marriage to Agnes Ward (his first wife, according to my records), while I am descended from his second wife, Sarah Cree (b 1808, Kentucky). Their children were Hugh H., Hiram (my Great Grandfather), Wesley, George R., Minerva J., and another Aquilla.

Hiram Purtee (b. 24 Dec. 1823, Meigs Twp., Adams Co., Ohio; d 2 May 1887, Edwardsville, Wyandotte Co., Kansas) married Susannah Herdman (b. 10 Dec. 1824, Adams Co., Ohio; d 10 Oct. 1919, Edwardsville, Kansas) on 5 Dec. 1844 in Adams Co., Ohio.

Their children were John, Wesley Cethus, Josephus, Sarah G., Aquilla R., Ruben/Reuben S., Susan C. (G.?), and George William ("Bill") Purtee (my grandfather).
