... Captain John Taylor Marshall, late of the 2nd Dragoon Guards, with which regiment he served in India, died in Wellington this morning. He was a son of Captain James Marshall, of the Inniskilling Dragoons. Arriving in New Zealand in 1865, he joined the Armed Constabulary, and later commanded the Nelson Military District. Subsequently he saw service in the South African War. He leaves one son and five daughters - Mr H. T. Marshall, Mrs W. E. Rawson, Mrs H. T. Thomas, and Mrs A. D. Briggs of Wellington; Mrs S. J. Gill, Masterton and Mrs F. Wood, Perth

Funeral service at St Michael and All Angels, Kelburn, at 10.30 a.m. Monday, 6th December, thence to Karori Cemetery

*Mr Henry Blundell, founder of the "Evening Post". She is survived by one brother, Mr Louis Blundell and a family of six, Mrs F. J. Wood (Perth, WA), Mrs W. E. Rawson (Wellington), Mrs H. R. Thomas (Wellington), Mrs A. D. Briggs (Wellington), Mrs S. D. Gill (Masterton) and Mr H. T. Marshall (Wellington)
* she is buried plot 468 H, CH ENG2 at Karori

NOTE *Henry Blundell (Raymond's maternal grandfather), made a trip to Ireland and travelled freely for several years. On 15 June 1878 he died in Sydney, Australia, while on a visit there. His remains were brought to Wellington by steamer and he was buried plot 5208, C of E in Bolton Street cemetery on 2 July 1878
