School News during this time frame ..
Evening Post, 29 April 1913 The election of the Taita School Committee resulted as follows:- Messrs Welch, Eales, Dolphin, Kilminster, Chevers and Mabey.
Mr Cleland, after forty-five years consecutive service as secretary of the Taita school committee, resigned his position. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided by the householders to present the veteran secretary with a token of esteem.

Dominion, 7 July 1913
The Taita School Committee decided at its last meeting to recognise Arbor Day in a fitting manner. The chairman, Mr M. W. Welch, is to obtain suitable trees and next Wednesday afternoon the committee and school children will meet at the school grounds and plant whatever shrubs, etc., have been obtained.

Dominion, 6 Oct 1915
A pleasant surprise to the boys attending the Taita School was given on Monday, when Mrs H. A. W. McKenzie presented the school with two exercising horses and spring-board. Mrs McKenzie mentioned that the elder boys had been taken to Wellington to witness the various exercises for which the horses were used and she had no doubt that these boys would, now they had the opportunity, become quite expert and in their turn teach the younger lads. Mr Phillips, the headmaster, on behalf of the school, thanked Mrs and Mr McKenzie for their kindness and said the school was already indebted to them for practical and thoughtful interest, which was much appreciated. Three hearty cheers were then given for Mr and Mrs McKenzie.
