RUTHERFORD ST Cemetery
Woolston, Christchurch, (the second oldest cemetery in Christchurch), established on what became Rutherford Street in 1852. The cemetery can be regarded as both a separate cemetery and a churchyard, though it was some distance from St John's church itself. Originally maintained by St John's Church, the cemetery was taken over by the Council in 1983. The cemetery is dominated by larger old style memorials, many of which mark the graves of prominent people from the Woolston area.
This cemetery is full and no longer active.

Hello
My name is Helen (surname supplied) ... we are on the Moses George Saunder/Priscilla Guys Hitchings family tree. I notice that you have them down as having 10 children but they actually had 11. Before they were married, they had a little girl called Sarah Priscilla Hitchings. She was registered as a Hitchings because Priscilla wasn't married at the time. (Not 100% sure if the little girl was Moses' or not?)
Details are as follows:
Born 07.04.1860 Baptised 09.05.1860 Died 08.07.1867 aged 7 years
Died of injuries received by being accidentally run over by a van on Greenwich Road

thank you Helen, I will now edit the above to include Sarah
