Searching for any information on Wilsons located in northern Mecklenberg County. Great Grandfather William Partee Wilson buried in cemetary at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Cornelius, North Carolina.
He was married to Addie Pippin sometime around 1900 give or take a few years. Addie and her Mom are also buried in the same cemetary. One of their children, Horace Eugene Wilson, is my grandfather (also buried at Mount Zion) as is my Father, Howard Edward Wilson.

The one thing about finding out about family members fvrom the past is that you "hear" interesting tidbits that "help" find out who your ancestors were. My Grandfather once told me as a young boy that his Grandfather, Alexander Mical, was a soldier in the Civil War. "He had chicken pox at some point during his enlistment. At the outset of the chickenpox, they thought he had smallpox. They quarantined him with several other men in a field that had a road running around it & told them that they would be shot if they crossed the road. Food was a bit scarce and he wasn't always fed on a timely schedule, so he had to catch and eat rats." This stuck with me and a couple of years ago I found a copy of his parole papers where he had been assigned to the 7th North Carolina Infantry having enlisted sometime in 1864 at Monroe, Union County, North Carolina and being pardoned paroled at Salisbury, North Carolina.
