I am the direct descendant (g6 grandson) of Hercules Archelons Lainchbery. Hercules was born the eldest child of William Lanchbuery (1625 ? February 18, 1737) and Sarah Harris, born about 1680. He was born into the small village of Chadlington, Oxfordshire, and baptised at the church of All Saints on May 22, 1680.

Hercules Lainchbery married Mary sometime before 1735. His father, William had been a Yeomen farmer of Chaddlington, and Hercules was mentioned in his will of 1735 (see Will of William Lanchbury), which is transcribed below.

?To my son Hercules Lanchbury during his natural life my Messuage and Lands which I hold by Lease of Sir {William} Osbaldeston Bart if the said Lease shall so long continue. After his decease I give to Mary his now wife during her widowhood the bakehouse with the room over the same, the barn adjoining the stable, and half of the garden, part of the said premises with liberty of ingress egress way and passage at all times to and from the same through the backsides belonging to the said premises. After the death of my said son and death or marriage of his said wife I give my said Messuage and Lands to Isaiah Lanchbury and John Lanchbury, two of the sons of my said son Hercules, for all the remainder of the said Lease equally divided between them.?

William senior died on the 18 February 1737 ? Hercules was married with nine children, which are as follows

Hercules Launchbury was a Yeoman farmer (numbered 384 on my Ahnentafel system) and his death (aged 75) on April 15, 1754 was just two years before his son Williams. His body was buried at Chaddington, but his wife Mary may have stayed on, I simply cannot find record of her ? she may have died by this time.
