1719 Thomas Calladine of Aston on Trent, Derbyshire.

Journal by Dave Calladine

I am the direct descendant (g6 grandson) of Thomas Calladine.

Thomas (128 on my ahnentafel) was born the third of ten children to Thomas Calladine (c 1680.)and Elizabeth Leverstitch(1691 - January 3, 1749) was born in the small town of Aston on Trent, just a few miles south of the town of Derby, Derbyshire,

His father Thomas Calladine (256 on my ahnentafel) was born in Aston on Trent and was involved in farming and silk stocking production.

THOMAS son of THOMAS & ELIZA Calladine bap Jan 6

The enclosure of land around Aston was starting in the 1740's and this may have driven away Thomas to his mothers parish of Heanor. His wife however was from Nottingham.

St Marys Notingham, Parish register, folio ? Marriages in July - December 1743

Thomas Calladine of Heanor in the county of Derbyshire, and Sarah Parkin of this Parish, were married by Licence M Wakefield, September 1743, 17th day.

I am pretty confident that Thomas Calladine of Heanor coal miner 21 bac. married Sarah Parkin of St Mary's Nottingham, 25 spr. on 17/9/1743. The only discrepancy I can find there is I have a death for a Sarah Calladine at Heanor in 1795 aged 73 and that makes an age difference of about 5 years although back then I don't suppose it mattered that much.

Thos. Calodine of Derby bur. Jany ye 10th 1776.

Children of THOMAS CALLADINE and SARAH PARKIN are:
i. THOMAS CALLADINE, b. 1749, Heanor, Derbyshire; d. March 7, 1836, Heanor Wood, Derbyshire. He married MARY - perhaps it was Mary RUMLEY May 18, 1769 in Pinxton, Derbyshire.

ii. SAMUEL CALLADINE, b. 1756, Heanor Common, Derbyshire. Baptism: October 13, 1756, Heanor Wood, Derbyshire.
