Ada's parents were John SCHAFFER and Sarah P C DANN.
They were married in Young, New South Wales, in 1869.

Lozza7 on 2012-04-10 08:31:32Hi There My great grandmother was Mary nne Kennedy the first name on your list. I have been trying to work through our family tree for many years but keep hitting obstacles and giving up. I have collected some info over the years on Mary's family but I am a little uncertain of the accuracy. There were lots of different records with varying spellings of her mother's maiden name (Sheen/Sheehan/Sheahan) so would be interested in what records you found and where to identify her parents.
Anyway, Mary Anne was born 28.3.1872 and died 13.8.1911 of cancer at Tallangatta Hospital. She was married to Phillip Fricke of Guys Forest Vic and had 3 children - Hermann, Phillip and my grandmother Matilda Mary. They were married in Albury on 26.6.1898 and lived on a farm on the Murray River at Burrowye near Walwa, Vic. I have the same siblings listed almost as you do but have 3 extras- Henry born 1863, followed by a girl (no name or date) then Richard born 1.1.1870 and have slightly different spellings and dates for the others. I cannot find my copies of the records at present to check. I also have a note that Ada Elizabeth Schaefer was a new wife to Henry Kennedy after Mary died in 1989 but you have her listed as a wife to Samuel. I would be interested in contacting you to discuss as we are trying to tie up some of the loose ends in our family. Regards Lozza7

Thank you for the helping hand with details for Mary. I did a few record searches today and confirmed your details and have now updated my journal.
I have only located the six children for Henry and Mary, but I have not searched all the Australian birth and death records to date.
The marriage records clearly show it was Samuel married to Ada in 1902 and not Henry. The registration number for the marriage is 5725. The birth place for Samuel is given as Mitta Mitta, and Ada's birth place is given as N.S.W. I have also included a few more details for Ada in my journal. May be of some help to you with later searches.
I will be searching the records again tomorrow and will let you know if I find anything further on your KENNEDY family.

My interest is Mary SHANE/SHENE/Sheehan I have finally found her. David I have tried to find you via other means. You may know me via a BARNES link. Mary died of measles in 1898 in Mitta Mitta. I have her death certificate. She was 53. I have ordered her birth record. It was registered as Mary SHANE in Goulburn 1843. Her mother was my direct ancestor Eliza McNally.
Eliza was illiterate as was Richard.
