I have recently found out that Annie Costello's father may have been Edward COSTELLO and her mother may have been Ann Askey/Asky. Is anyone able to help me verify this fact somehow? Please contact me if you can help.

Hi I came across this Ancestry site with a picture of the Costello-Peacock marriage certificate -

Thank you for your feedback ALV. I took a look at this image and I do already have a copy of this document. The challenge however is that another relative has recently obtained a birth certificate of Annie Costello and on this document, the father's name is listed as Edward, so now we have to figure out whether these are the same Annies. As per the birth cert., Annie's mother is listed as Ann ASKEY/ASKY. This surname is used elsewhere in the family line, for one of Annie's children infact, so the challenge is now to figure out if Edward and Dominic are one in the same, one a nickname for the other or whether these two records (birth and marriage certs.) are of two separate Annies.

Hi. It is also possible that Edward and Dominic are the given names of the father.

The father may have used Edward in preference to his first name but the daughter mat have used Dominic knowing that it was his first given name. Was the father alive when they married?

Also there was a fair bit of dislike towards the Irish in 18th & 19th Century in the USA so may have used Edward rather than Dominic to avoid the stigma.

Sorry I meant England.

Hi. Annie's father was already deceased when she married. I guess that is a VERY feasible theory, thanks for that, I'll share it with my family.
