Adkins family from Warwickshire, England
My maiden name was Adkins. I have traced my Adkins ancestors back 5 generations to William Adkins born c 1781 in Coventry, Warwickshire, England. He married Ann Seekings b c 1786 in Whitwick, Leicestershire, England. They are found in the 1851 Census living at 57 Agnes Lane in Coventry, with their daughter Sarah.
I have not been able to find William's father.

Event Date: 5 Jan 1802

London? how would that help?
If you look look at the transcript it might give the fathers names for both people. I have no idea what they were doing in London but at a guess I would say they went there to marry because if your birth dates are correct Ann would have been only 16.
I only found these two for Coventry but it does not help. your only hope is that you can find their marriage records in London and hope it gives the father's name.
Did you find them in 1841 in Coventry ? It does not show Sarah born c1815. She may have been name after William's Mother but Eliza may have been named after Elizabeth. Good Luck sorting it out

Thank you "family detective" for your messages. I have a record of the marriage (but it's been handed down and I can't find a copy of the document or the source) - "William Adkins and Ann Seekings both of this Parish were married in this church by banns this fifth day of January 1802, by me Joseph Fells Mins.
This marriage was then solemnised between us in the presence of us
Abrm Pardoe
Jno Taylor
Wm Adkins
Ann Seekings"
I don't know how long they had to live in London to qualify as ""of this parish".
Through various sources we think that the Seekings were related to the Pardoe family; Sarah Pardoe was named as a niece of Sarah (Rudd) Seekings, wife of William Seekings and mother of Sarah (Seekings) Wheatley.
William Adkins of Charlton Street, Sommers Town, St Pancras, was executor to the will of Abraham Pardoe, the will being witnessed by William Seekings. But we don't have the connection with Ann Seekings.
We haven't found William and Ann on the 1841 census, but in the 1851 census they were living at Agnes Lane, Coventry aged 70 and 65, with daughter Sarah (36) and all listed as S. Weavers (silk weavers?). The name is Atkins on the Christening records you've listed, and the names David and Eliza don't seem to tie up with later information.
We have their children:
William Henry (1803-1876)
John (1805- )
Henry Adkins (1807-1882)
Jane (1808-1878)
Sarah (1815- )
My maiden name was Adkins, too. I have traced our Adkins tree back to William Vortimer Adkins (1689-1754) married to Elizabeth Parker Adkins (1695-1784). I believe William was born in Charles City, VA. Have you seen those names in your research?
Thanks for your message Nannijan. My ancestors are from the UK and would not have been in the US prior to the 1800s.
Cybersuezee,
The Adkins branch of my family originated in the UK, too; however, I am uncertain about the time they sailed to America. I still have many missing blanks.
