Hello I am doing research on my husbands family from Sandy Hook, Elliott county KY. They appear to be from the William Atkinson line of Pittslyvania VA. I am working on the son Richard leaving VA for TN or KY. It appears Richard died in Grainer TN but his sons had moved to Morgan/Elliott county KY. I was searching for some logic on the sons move away from their family. Since we are talking about 1750- 1850 we are working on logical guesses. Was there Revolutionary war land grants or did they buy one that led them to KY. Any mutual links with current genealogy hunters would be appreciated.
