This is really strange, there are two records for Agnes Potter marrying Archibald McNeil, one is Kilsyth, Stirling and the other in Dunipace, Stirling, both on the same date 1 September 1798. You can view the records on the following site, you will have to buy credits to view, but the records should give you the names of their respective fathers.

apparently it was the practise to register twice. I think this happened when couples came from different areas?
Thanks for that I will check it out
Hi,
I just found your post with an internet search.
I've got the family on my tree. My interest is in the McNeil family.
Archibald McNeil married Agnes Potter in 1789 in Kilsyth.
Her parents were George Potter (b. 1/10/1731 in Uphall W.Lothian, m. 19/8/1757 in Uphall, W.Lothian) and Agnes Porteous.
George's parents were James Potter (m. 7/7/1724 in Uphall, W.Lothian) and Katherine Hill.
Hi Scott, thanks so much for the line I had given up. My Great Great Grand mother is Agnes b.1828.
