Albert Birchenough (Born 1865 at Macclesfield, Cheshire)
Hi, I am researching the Birchenough Family and have reached the family of Charles Birchenough (born 1822 at Macclesfield) and his wife Hannah Birchenough nee Smith (born 1834 at Macclesfield), who according to the 1871 Census Record were residents of Pickford Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire (the number not being recorded), and I am now looking at their fourth-born child Albert Birchenough (born 1865).
Charles Birchenough (his father) appears to have died between AMJ/1874/8a/83 at Macclesfield, and having looked at the 1881 Census Record, Albert Birchenough appears to have left the family home (between 1874 and 1881) and moved to live with his married sister Mary Lees nee Birchenough and her husband Frederick Lees, at 56 Pickford Street, Macclesfield.
Siblings Frederick (born 1877), George (born 1861) and Sarah (born 1868) appear to have moved to this address as well.
However, I can find no trace of Hannah Birchenough at all after the 1871 Census Record.
I have endeavoured to trace Albert Birchenough's whereabouts in the 1921 Census Record.
The only POSSIBLE identification of him is as follows:
1921: Census Record, Address: 224 St Georges Road, Coventry, Warwickshire.
1. Albert Birchenough, Head, Narried Male, 58 years, b. 1863 at Macclesfield, Foreman Bill Poster.
NOTE: The slight difference in date of birth from 1865, but his usual occupation of Bill Poster).
2. Christina Hyland Somerville Birchenough, Housekeeper, born 1976 at Manchester, Bill Poster.
NOTE: Both are working for the Covenyty Bill Posting Company, Limited at 34 Ewarl Street, Coventry, Warwickshire.
PROBLEM: Despite her unusual name, I can find no further trace of the BMD of Christina.
Can anyone assist me with further information on this last section of my enquiry please?
Many thanks in advance.
John Holmes.
