Albert Wilkes & wife Ann ( nee ) Bloxam
I am looking for family connection with My great grandmother Carey Ann Newton. She immigrated with her parents Albert and Ann Wilkes and other siblings from Warwickshire on the " Peeress" in 1874. I know she was 19rs when she married 24 July 1883. Reg. Office Timaru to Edward Henry Newton. I know my line from there down but would like to find out more about her parents and siblings.

1871 Census: Wilkes family at Church and Tysoe, Warwickshire, England
Albert Wilks 29
Ann Wilks 24
Amey Wilks 7
Karen Wilks 5
Thomas Wilks 4
James Wilks 1
William Bloxham 2 (Nephew)
If this is the same family, Thomas & Karen appear to have been Christened on the same day 24 November 1867. Could they have been twins even though ages are recorded differently?
There is an Albert Wilkes marriage to Ann Bloxham 22 September 1862, Saint Lawrence, Darlaston, Stafford, England (possibly them?) Albert is recorded as 21 years and Ann as 16.
His father recorded as John and hers as Joseph.
Thank you for responding.
I think they are the same people. There was 4 years between Albert & Ann. Names are the same except the difference in the spelling of the surname. The fact that the Bloxham nephew was with them for the 1871 census is another factor.
Bloxam is listed as the mothers surname on Carey- Ann & Edward Henry Newton's marriage cert which I have. She 19yr- he 21yr. Date July 1883. So she would have been 9 yrs in NZ. by then.
Why she changed her christian name from Karen is a mystery.
Passenger list names & ages all correlate. Albert is listed as a farm labourer.
I have no idea what the Wilkes family movements were from 1874. Thanks for your input.
