No birth recorded for your George ALLEN in Victoria around that period to parents Frederick ALLEN (or ALLAN) and Amy DEVERE (or DE VERE). There were no children recorded to Frederick and Amy in Victoria whatsoever.
May I ask where you obtained George's birth details and parents names from?
I don't have any proof of his birth, he was given an age of 74years when he died in 1954. His parents names were on his marriage certificates. I have just found a notice in TROVE re his marriage- it just says Mr and Mrs Allen from Melbourne and that George was their youngest. In the obts for George there is no mention of him coming from Melbourne it says he lived in and around Wagga Wagga all his life. On his marriage certificate it says he is from Melbourne.I have a feeling that George may have changed his name at some stage. Sometimes they just don't want to be found. I doo think the one you have found may have some connection to the Frederick I am looking for I will keep the info as I always do just in case there is some connection. Thanks again Dawn
