Krystyna has been a Family Tree Circles member since Aug 2013.
Her name was Paulina when she married Henirick 'Henry' Brown in 1879.
In the Wellington Court on 5 Feb 1884, Henry was charged with an assault upon his wife, Paulina Brown. Mr H. H. Travers defended the accused, who denied the offence. Mr Shaw appeared for the Paulina. Mr Hirschberg was sworn in as interpreter, Paulina being a Polish German.
The evidence for Paulina showed that on the previous Thursday, Henry called her an old cow, threatened her life and beat her. Paulina accused him of exhibiting a decided preference for a servant girl named Emma, with whom she believed he was about to elope to Sydney with.
Henry denied that he had threatened or assaulted her and expressed his opinion that she was not quite sane. The Court was satisfied that an assault had been committed and ordered him to keep the peace towards his wife and others in the city, for at least a month
Paulina was apparently in Christchurch because on the 18 June 1900 Mrs Johnston, of Tuam street West, put an ad in the 'Press' asking that Mrs Paulina Brown kindly call on her urgently
Thank you Ngairedith!
Several people seem to have replied to my post about Paulina Brown, but I can't seem to access these replies.

it's ok Krystyna, is just ridiculous spam from those without a life :). They are deleted when posted. If it happens again you will know why
Thanks again Ngaire, that's disappointing...grateful for your deletions!
