This VERY large site John 'Renta' Baker (pdf file) mentions that Samuel & Rachel's son, Daniel Baker born in 1842, was the first male child born in the settlement of Lunn County Missouri (on page 4 of 342)

- it is a great read actually and mentions that Mrs Esther Baker (his mother) was the first to weave a cloth in that county and that Jacob Keith, William Putman, George W. Baker and Andrew Baker, in July 1840 made the first settlement on section 31, townnship 61, range 19 and section 11, township 60, range 19.
- George W. Baker, the noted pioneer Old School Baptist minister, held the first religious services in the community at private houses.
- It has Samuel L. Baker as the 2nd of 14 children, marrying Rachel Davidson and having 14 children
- this could be the original of one of the above trees (in a different format)
