My father's mother was a Bishop from the Scott County Bishops. My mother has done extensive work on my dad's lines. I have asked her to share, and as soon as I can teach her how to do online gedcom information sharing, I will also share with you. (The problem is that we are living on opposite coasts right now, so this isn't as easy as it sounds.)

My Great Grandmother was Dolly Rebecca Bishop Hayes daughter of Alfred McKinney Bishop. Our ancestors were the Bischoff family of Oberhausen Germany. I recommend the family tree of John William Thesing:

Hello, I was posting a response to the question about the Rye Cove tornado. My G-father's name was Clarence Jackson Bishop. His two sisters were the two Bishop children killed in the 1929 tornado. Their names were Callie age 10, and Monnie age 8. Their names are on a plaque that stands in front of the high school that now stands on the spot of the original school. Their father was Henry Grant Bishop Feb.12, 1884 - Aug.17, 1961. I've seen reports that show another sister is listed as being killed, Della, but she was only injured. She walked with a severe limp until she died in the early 80's. If you would like any more info or pictures let me know.

I too am a decendant of John Bishop and Elizabeth Babb,,I am hoping just 'maybe' someone would have a picture of John and Elizabeth or my Ggrandmother Sarah Ellen Bishop Conley from Scott Co.Va,and anyone that may have 'any' information on Sarah's husband's father and mother,,her husband was Napoleon Conley,,they are on the Scott Co.Va census record in 1850 living by his mother Margaret "Peggy' Conley Walling and her '2nd' husband John Walling,,I cannot find any information on them 'before' this census,,like what Conley 'Margaret was married to,,Napoleon also had a sister Jane that is shown living with her mother and step father and is listed age 18 as a 'Walling' instead of a Conley 'probably' just because they had several other children together and they were Walling's,,however Jane and Nap were born 'somewhere' in Ky,,I would also love to find out what Margaret 'Peggy' Conley Walling's maiden name was,,any help would be appreciated so much,,and would love to find more cousins,,
