I have had a brick wall for well over 10 years. I have tried every avenue possible, Ancestry,& dna, I am stuck.
I have clues all over the place, but I can not get a direct lead. The reason I found family tree circles is someone had a WEAVER/BIRD posted(one of my clues)

Charles Mason b- abt 1830/35 Ire
Ellen Katherine(Griffin) Mason wife ,b- abt 1835/38 Ire
John Mason b- abt 1854 NJ, some census has him b- PA,> he married 1892 NYC, Emma Nicklaus/Nicklous* I have more info.
Catherine Mason b-Oct 1856 PA>she married Tioga co, PA to Patrick Kelly b- Ireland. * I have more info.
*my gr grandmother Mary Roosa Mason b- 1858 PA, married George Dixson s/o William Dixson & Eliza Townsend Dixon Barber. Mary Roosa Mason died 1928 Bath Steuben co, NY & buried under her maiden name. She left her husband George Dixon with the 4 children prior to 1900 Corning, Steuben co , NY census.
Mary Roosa Mason death record states her mother, Ellen Torpy b- Ireland and father listed as Charles Mason
I have 3 of the death records of this Mason family, the mother Ellen Griffin Mason died 1899 Wellsboro ,,PA, her death record states she is married. Husband Charles Mason is not on the Tioga co, PA 1880 census with her & children, so he must have left her with the children . I suspect my gr grandmother Mary Roosa Mason was born thru affair of her father Charles Mason while married to then wife Ellen Griffin. I have 2 records of the other siblings state mother as Ellen Griffin. My Mary Roosa Mason is the only one that has mother as Ellen Torpy.

Betsy(aka Nellie) Mason b- abt 1864 PA>she married John P Herrington,0 children born.
Sarah Mason b- abt 1866 PA
Charles Mason jr. b- 1870 PA
Ralph L(Lewellyn?) Mason b-Sept 1872 PA> he married Rosetta Horton* I have more info.
Alice Mason b- 1874 Wellsboro, PA> she married Melvin Hill * I have more info.
hvr1 mtdna has me linked to a Jane L.P.Weaver b- 1825, d- 1860 Choctaw co AL.
I did find a Thomas Tourpy born 1829 Ireland, 1880 census Humphreys co Tenn. with a Annie Bird age 19 b- Tenn(niece) in the home. Bird/Byrd shows as relative to my dna, but not sure if ydna, or mtdna.
I do know thru mtdna I link to a Jennie Lou(Torr) Thompson b- may 31, 1852 Chatham, Ont, died Dec, 18, 1933 Berkley, Oakland , Michigan
