Hi Tracy,

I am also looking for Caleb's birth which would have been in the bristol area. I am building up a family tree of the hiscox family from 1820 to the present and need to do more research to find Caleb's birth details. You will probably have noticed that the name Hiscox has several derivatives due to transcribers in those days writing down what was heard pronounced i.e. hiscox, hitchcock, hiscocks hisscox etc Caleb's birth date as you say is around 1800 and I will let you know when I have more details. I am based in the Midlands in England. You don't have to reply to this but where are you based?

Regards

Ken

Hello Ken,
I am in Kent. I have Caleb on my mums side, and Hitchcocks in Wiltshire/Oxon on my dads side. I think there may be a connection, but haven't found it yet. Caleb is being a bit of a pain!!
Regards,
Tracy

Hello Ken,
Thank you for that. I have found an Israel Hiscox on the 1841, born about 1796, and an Ann Hiscox on Rootsweb, born about 1799 (m Jon Taylor). I presume they may be siblings, but no proof! I am descended from Isaac (bc1820, bapt 1839)
Regards,
Tracy
