Can you help me find any documentation regarding my husband's grandfather.

Question by LorenK

Joseph Brown (not his real name, arrived with forged passport and then name changed to Brown upon entry into this country-1911) was born in 1884 in (according to DNA results) Germany.

He and his wife Mamie (born Poland - same forged passport story) had one child- William Joseph Brown, born Jan 1916, NYC - died Goffstown, NH 1991. Have found NO documentation/evidence regarding birth or baptism of William, their residence in NYC, census information, occupation or certification of Joseph's death of pneumonia at 40 in 1924. He could have died in NYC or somewhere else in NY. Mamie married again - to Andrew Balko and lived in Hudson, NY until she died.

Usually answers lead to more questions, right now all I have is questions.

Thanks for your time. Regards, Loren Hoffman

Started out simply enough, but more answers led to more questions. Family surnames: Hoffman (from PA), Barnes (from CT to NY to the Midwest and beyond) and Myers from Glanworth, Ireland to Minneapolis, MN
