Captain Owen Williams was born about 1838 and died 14 Sep 1924. He was the son of John Williams and Mary Lewis.

Owen became a Master Mariner and Trinity Pilot and some of the vessels he commanded were Kate, Catherine, Maglona and Olive Branch - the last seagoing vessel to be built at Aberdovey.

He is mentioned in the books A Real Little Seaport by Lewis Lloyd and Brief Glory by D. W. Morgan.

Owen married Elizabeth Davies 17 Aug 1859 and after her death (13 Mar 1882) married Jane Aspinall (nee Roberts) 21 Mar 1888. Altogether he spawned 14 children, 10 by his first wife and 4 by his second.
