Thank you Tonkin and Janilye,
I assume that the Medical officer exaggerated the circumstances for the medical discharge of Charles including his age and loss of family members and his age for a compassionate discharge. He survives Gallipoli and gets a passage home to Australia. Only to go to England to re-enlist. He had lost his Son and had a family back in Australia. I do not understand why. I assume that he was originally excepted for his knowledge of explosives. After going through a life like this, I feel he had a bloody good innings to last 80 years.
It is the strangest service record that I have read
Thank you both
