Comments
Charles Wiegele is the husband of my grand aunt Adeline Ebersold Wiegele.
Charles Wiegele was a brother to my great grandmother Louisa Wiegele Rossow (1857-1949). He was older than Louisa-I have his birth as1854 in New Orleans where his parents, same as you have listed, arrived in USA. There was also a brother Louis (1861-1935) and a sister Mary Wiegele McQuiston (1864-1948). I believe there was an older brother August (1849-), but cannot find anything about him since he came to USA as a abt 5yo child. Thank-you for Adeline's obituary-have been searching for it. I have some questions about her children. Saw Malinda on 1 census but never again and she is not mentioned in Leo's obituary which is very informative and complete. Also, I believe the date of death for Josephine Wiegele Peterson is mixed up with another Josephine Wiegele whom I can follow from birth to death but is not Charles and Adeline's daughter. Their daughter Josephine was born 29 Mar 1893 and is listed only as "Wiegele" and female on her christening and birth record. I do not know the 1st name of her husband so have been unable to find her past Leo's obituary. My great uncle Adolph Rossow said of his aunt Adeline Wiegele she was the best cook ever!
In the 1 census that named Marinda, Hazel, born in 1902 was left out. I believe the name Marinda was an error and the census taker was confused with Malinda's name. I incorrectly stated Malinda in the previous message, She can easily be tracked through her life, but not Marinda. Would love to know who Mrs Frank Starz listed in this obit is (unless there is a Marinda). It's possible it was another marriage for Hazel. She and Malinda stayed close, from same town often, and were buried together sharing a gravestone.
