Charley Minix
My maternal, grandfather, Charles Minix was elected to the position of jailer in Salyersville, Kentucky, Magoffin County, in 1910 on the Republican ticket. He married Sarah Jane Reed and they had 9 children and relocated to southern Ohio in the Portsmouth area around 1915. Later they moved to a small farm which adjoined their daughter and son-in-law, Chester and Leona Risner on Hayport Road in wheelersburg, Ohio. My sister and I have many fond memories of visiting my grandmother here as children. Grandpa died in 1941.
