Cocker Family Tree - Can you add to it?

Journal by leonemarlene

How do I fit into the Cocker family tree?

My great-grandmother was Jayne Seymour Cocker. Her father was Benjamin Cocker. His father was Joshua Cocker born 11 Feb 1862. His father was Joshua Cocker born 11 Nov 1824 in Yorkshire, and who moved with his wife Elizabeth Lobley to Tasmania, Australia before settling in Nukualofa, Tonga in 1859/1860 where many have referred to him as the first British vice-Consul to Tonga. His father was Benjamin Cocker born 17 Aug 1785 in Huddersfield, England. His father was another Benjamin Cocker born 22nd Nov 1758 in Elland, England. His father is the first member of the Cocker family that I can trace back to, another Benjamin Cocker, birth date unknown. But we do know he first married in 1742 and then again in 1752.

The generations above had a lot of children, which I know some of. But if you are descended from the above I welcome the opportunity to compare notes.

Most of the information above has been provided by Mark Dalby, a fellow descendent and Uncle many times removed.

Hello
My name is Peter Cocker and I am following the Cocker family from Huddersfield and numerous other places and although I have found information taking this family back to a Joshua Cocker bc1702 then Benjamin b10 Jan 1742 in Birstall then Benjamin b25 Dec 1758 them Benjamin b17 Aug1785. I also have Joshua b11 Nov 1824 and his wife Elizabeth Lobley and their son Joshua b11 Feb 1862 in Tongo. I have two wives for Joshua, Siosi ? & Jiousiana Uhi and only three children Clara Elizabeth (Cocker) Cameron, James Cecil Cocker & Joyce Emily (Cocker) Knox. I have unfortunately not been able to find any source material for a son Benjamin Cocker and his daughter Jayne Seymour Cocker as mentioned by you in your search in Family Tree Circles and would appreciate any information you can provide to assist is expanding the family tree as foreign records are not as east to find here in England.
With kind regards
Peter Cocker
