nagoc-Your Cogans are probably NOT my Cogans, but here is a scrap of information for your notes: Thomas Cogan(b. 1835 est.) married Mary ?. Both born in Ireland, by 188o resided in Bloomfield, NJ. Their children: Elizabeth(b. 1860), Edward(b. 1864), Thomas F.(b. May 1867), Mary(born 1869 est.), John L. (b. Nov. 1880). Thomas F. married Katie Schwab(b. Aug. 1969)28 Oct. 1896 in Newark, NJ. They had 2 children: Howell S.(b. Sept 1897 and Helen Mae (b. Nov. 1899). As adults Helen resided in NYC and Howell remained in Bloomfield, marrying his high school sweetheart, Irene A. Palliser(est. m. 1922)and having one daughter, Carolyn(b. 23 Dec.1923, d.27 January 1979, Houston, TX) Carolyn was my mother. Being new to family research, I haven't looked at the other siblings up the line yet, but with Thomas and Mary both being from Ireland in the mid 1800s(my guess)I don't think they link with yours. However, I haven't bumped into any other Cogan researchers. Happy Hunting, lindsidelass
