Connolly/Ralstons in Quebec/Ontario Canada

Journal by mjexpress

Alexander Connolly & Jane Sinclair/William Ralston & Matilda Connolly were my husband's ancestors. Have lots of info/photos to share. Anybody know about their coming to Canada about 1820? Wm Ralston's family were from Eaglesham, Renfrew, Scotland, Alex. Connolly's from Ulster, Ireland.

Hello! 2 years later!! ;-)

Well, I am a descendant of Alexander Connolly & Jane Sinclair, through their son Thomas Alexander. I have zero information of them coming to Canada, nor do I have any true reference of which County they are from in Ireland. All I have found myself is the 1851 census of Ontario which states they were born in Ireland. Do you have documents stating they are from a county?? I would be interested in hearing about your findings.
Thank you,
Barb.

Great to hear from you!! There is a lot of info on the Connollys in "Up To Rawdon" re: Rawdon, Quebec. Family lore states that Jane Sinclair was baptized by John Wesley himself & that the family repeatedly crossed the border to Scotland to have their babies there instead of Ireland. Please e-mail me at mjexpress@hotmail.com for more info. MJ
