I have been researching my family tree for just over 3 years now. There has been exciting finds and then times when you think you are getting somewhere then BAM! you find out that you have strayed down the wrong path of the tree. My fathers family are the Cowards from Blenheim and the Gills from Grovetown in New Zealand and my mothers family are the Whites and the Smiths. I have been quite lucky with the White side of the family and have managed to go a fair way back. My husband is also researching his family tree. Mainly his father's side as his mother's side as already been done. His family are the Williams and the Stevensons, but we have not had much luck there as we seem to be coming up against brick walls all the time, we seem to be able to get back to the early 1800's but for some unknown reason the lines just stop there. I have not spent as many hours on the ole laptop over the summer period but with the cooler weather coming and daylight saving ending next weekend I am sure I will be back spending numerous hours on my family tree.
