My name is William J.Curley and I am researching some "Family History". We are a New York / New Jersey rooted Irish Catholic family.

My father was born in New York City to Julia Irene McCormack and James Lawrence Curley. He died in 1942 and was born in 1902. For some unknown reason to us now, he "used" the name "Harry Jerome Curley", when in fact his name, until April of 1942, when he had it officially changed, was James Henry Curley.

My grandfather "disappeared" from family reference and history for some never discussed reason and was not even mentioned, living or deceased, in the wedding announcement of my mother and father. An old aunt told me once he was a "barman" in New York City.
