On the 24th August, at her residence, "Bickleigh" Douglas-street, Toorak, Amy Ann Lindsay Flyger, relict of the late J.J Flyger, eldest daughter of the late Amy and William H. Flyger, merchant, New Zealand, and first niece of the late Captain Samuel Lindsay, of Melbourne (Private interment).

The wedding of Mr. W. H. Douglas Newby, B.A., Oxon., LL.B.. London,
youngest son of Mr. T. H. Newby, of London, retired army surgeon, and
Miss Emily May Flyger, eldest daughter, of the late Mr. John J. Flyger, of London, and Mrs. Amey A. L. Flyger, of ' Bickleigh,' Douglas street, Toorak, was
celebrated at St. John's Church, Toorak, on the 7th February, by the Rev. G. E. Drought, M.A. The bride was married in her pretty travelling dress
of pale blue silk taffeta voile, the bodice elaborately trimmed with
Valenciennea lace, short sleeves, with lace elbow cuffs; the skirt was
richly trimmed with hand-worksd flowers and true lovers' knots of
paler blue and white silk; the Gainsborough hat of white satin
straw was set with, a long ostrich plumes; she also wore a gold bracelet,
gift of bridegroom, and carried a prayer book, Mr. P. C. Churchley,
brother-in-law of bride, gave her away. The bridesmaids were the
Misses Miriam Lindsay and Myrtle G. Flyger, sister of bride. They
wore dresses of champagne voile, over shell pink, daintily trimmed
with Valenciennes lace; large eau de nil chip hats, trimmed with
claret ribbon, velvet. The first bridesmaid wore gold cable bracelet
and the second a gold chain and pendant, gifts of ths bridegroom.
Mr. P. B, Adcock, B.A , was best man and Mr. C. Spends groomsman.
After the ceremony a wedding tea and reception was held at ' Bickleigh,' Toorak. The bride's mother wore a dress of black silk grenadine, and coronet bonnet of Tuscan lace straw, trimmed with black Valenciennes lace and flowers. Mrs. F. C.
Churchley wore ivory merveilleux silk costume, and lace hat, swept
with large ostrich feathers. The hall and reception room were artistically
decorated with ferns and flowers.
The gifts were numerous and valuable. Afterwards tbe bride and
bridegroom left for their honeymoon with many expressions for their
future happiness.
