Have a look at Marriage license, Banns and certificates
One thing I know is back then when Banns had to be posted with a fee in the parish of the Groom and the Parish of the bride, to save money one would move into the other's parish, thereby only having to register once and pay the one fee. The 'Allegations' contain plenty of information but I think it's pot luck with the Banns

Thanks for answers. My couple were married at St. James Piccadilly, Westminster,London in 1805, Names and witnesses only given on cert.
