Doran x Dundee

Journal by moresmall

I have a Gilbert Ross Doran b 1887 in St Andrews, Dundee and died about 1968. His occupations were Shifter in a Jute Mill, and Boil maker.

He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Ritchie, (x Rosehearty) and they had 3 children, Gilbert, May & "Living" daughter.

My mother recalls Gilbert as being a very friendly man, always smiling, and he played games and races at the family picnics in Rosehearty.

Son, Gilbert, emigrated to the USA in about 1950, and died in Detroit, 1997.

May, married and went to New Zealand, died in 1965.

Any one got connections to the above ?

Maureen

Hi, Do you know Gilberts parents names at all? And any other relations. I have Dorans in our family tree taht hailed from County Monaghan... but the parents William and Eliza (mcKee) died In England in 1840s and the kids went back to Ireland before immigrating to NZ.. Alexander and Jane... Anything familiar in that at all.. as we are having difficulty locating what happened to the parents and where in Ireland they went back to..?

Anything you have would be helpful.

thanks
Julie-Ann
