could i ask something else. do you know or have any information on john remphrey eddy's parents. his fathers name is the same as his and his mother is mary dale. i wonder if records go back further to who their parents were. something i need to look into

I would try to find a copy of their marriage record in Australia, it may reveal who their parent are.

there was some interesting information here

but to my understanding Aunty Elva never had children and the 2 names mention Henry Chappell and Theo Smith were her husbands first uncle Harry and when he passed Aunty Elva remarried to Theo Smith, Both passed before Aunty Elva and they are all buried together in Waiuku cemetery
