Elizabeth GRIFFITHS (mother) emigrated to Australia with her sons Edward (Ted), Hendry, Albert, John (Jack) and wife Alice Gwen (Evans) and grand daughter Delys.
Delys Elenada Griffiths was the daughter of Elizabeth's deceased daughter Mary Elizabeth Griffiths who was married to Issac Perrit. She married John Kingsford in 1936 in Sydney, NSW. She had one son called Gordon Warwick Kingsford.
Ted GRIFFITHS went to Australia to play football/rugby so that is why the family emigrated.
Elizabeth GRIFFITHS died 26th October 1944 at 90 Redfern Street, Redfern, Sydney where she lived with her daughter-in-law Alice. The family business was either a dry cleaning store or laundry.
Her sons Albert and Ted lived in New Caledonia, mining for Chrome.
Henry lived in Melbourne and Phoebe in Mid Wales. John, Mary, David Thomas and Tilly were deceased.
Her grandchildren in Australia at that time were Delys KINGSFORD(nee GRIFFITHS)who had a son Gordon born at St Ronan's Private hospital, Borrowdale Road, Sydney, NSW, Australia in 1938.
Also a grandson John RASCEY GRIFFITHS who was in the AIF and had been brought up by his Uncle John (Jack) Griffiths and wife Alice. John married a Cecille Joan VIDLER and they had children Susan and Michael.

She may have married a PERRIT and could be the mother of Delys. Dely's father married again after her mother's death and her 1/2 brother visited her in Australia many years later. Delys lived with her grand mother Elizabeth Griffiths and her Uncle John (Jack) and Aunt Alice Gwen GRIFFITHS.
CF453BD on 2015-03-02 17:35:34Delys' father was my great grandfather, Isaac Perrett (Ike). His second wife was a Maud MacPherson. Ike and Maud had 4 children, Lilian, Stanley (my grandfather), Bill and Bert. I recall my grandparents talking about Isaac's 3 daughters by his fist marriage, including Delys but not Evan. I believe that Bert moved to Sydney shortly after WWII, and so he may be the half brother who visited Delys. Stan never visited Australia.
My nan and Lilian visited Bert in Australia in 1998 shortly after Stan's death.
Gordon will be my father and uncle's cousin?

Mary was my Grandmother Phoebe's sister. Phoebe died before I was born. Did Bert die in Australia? I have been living in Australia for over 30 years and it has taken me that long to find any connection. I have located relatives of JOHN RASEY GRIFFITHS cousin to DELYS PERRETT. John's mother HANNAH MATILDA GRIFFITHS was an Auntie to Delys. Hannah died not long after arriving in Australia from the Spanish Flu. Both John and Delys (cousins) were brought up by their Uncle John Jarman Griffiths and his wife Alice.
CF453BD on 2015-03-18 17:51:42Hi,I will have to speak to my nan to see if she has any info for you, and whether she knows if anyone has a photo of Mary. She is 95, has been quite ill recently & has just had an operation, so may be another couple of weeks or so before I can get back to you.
I think that Bert may still be alive and still in Sydney.
My father thinks that Bill may have visited Delys & Bert in Australia.
I was wondering whether you knew what happened to Evan George? And do you have any contact with Gordon, Delys' son?
