Find my family.
Hi my name is Cherie,
for a long time now I have been asking about my family tree, my back ground, aspecialy on my mothers side of the family with very little response to my questions. I have managed to get a few names but that is about it. I want to be able to tell my children there history, I want to know history. If anyone is able to help me would be greatly appreciated. My grandparents names are Thomas Robert Jobson and Wendy May Coombe. Born around Taree in Australia.

Hi Cherie, people cannot help you when you haven't even given us any names to work with 🤔. Start by telling us your mother's name, her birth date, her country of birth, her parents perhaps and where they are buried. Stuff like that. This is a world-wide page. We need to know at least the country to start looking because many of us specialise in certain countries and can be of more help

Hi there,
MR. THOMAS ROBERT JOBSON.
The death occurred suddenly at Taree, last Saturday, of Mr. Thomas Robert Jobson, at the age of 68 years. Mr. Jobson had come to Taree to consult a doctor. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Robert Jobson, of Mit-chell's Island, where he was born. On
May 1, 1907, he married Miss Rebecca Smailes, of Wingham, by whom he is survived. In his younger days Mr. Jobson was an even time gaslight runner at events then held on the Taree Showground, when it was situated in the area bounded by Manning, Wynter and Macquarie Streets. He was also a keen footballer. When the railway survey was being undertaken, between Taree and Urunga, Mr. Jobson was in the em ploy of the surveyors and later on in connection with the construction work. Whilst in the latter employ ment he met with an accident and broke his leg. He returned to Mitchell's Island in 1917 and remained there for some years. Then for five years he had charge of the Cattai ferry before the bridge was constructed over the Rawson River on the Coopernook-Harrington Road. Here Mr. Jobson and his sons gave an excellent service, despite the fact that they were called on at all hours of the day or night. Subsequently Mr. Jobson moved to Harrington and for the last ten years had resided at Coopernook. In addition to his widow Mr. Jobson is survived by the following family: Mary Ann (Mrs. Webster, Cooper-nook), Mr. Richard Thomas Jobson (Coopernook), Mr. William John Jobson (Melbourne), Florence May (Mrs. Wiseley, Coff's Harbour), Mr. Edward James Jobson, Mr. George Jobson and Miss Shirley Jobson (Coopernook). There are sixteen grandchildren and one great grand child. Two daughters and a son are deceased. The funeral left Taree on Monday morning for Scott's Creek cemetery where Rev B. C. Dixon conducted the funeral service.
