Finding Jeremiah Hallahan circa 1840

Journal by Hallahan

I have only just recently found out that my great grandfather was a Jeremiah Hallahan and that he was married to Debora (Unknown). They had a son, Henry, born Jhansi, India on the 17th of February 1875. They also had a daughter, Mary. I believe she too was born in India.

My father and all of his children were born in Dublin, Ireland and we 'understood' our name to be from either Cork or Waterford. It is my hope to re-establish a connection to our Hallahan roots and I would like to find out what Debora's family name was and where they hailed from.

As you can see my information is scant, however I do have a photo of Jeremiah Hallahan circa 1870 and one I believe to be of Debora.

You definitely need all the help you can get ... here's a little bit from me:-

RootsChat register as a new user, free site. Goto their Ireland boards and see if someone can find marriage of your g.grandparents in Ireland.

HALLAHAN Family Crest and Name History

The Surname Navigator have a look at this site, it's a beauty, click on whatever country you like, type in HALLAHAN, then press submit and about 14 window boxes will open up full of data for you to sift through.

HALLIFAN Family Genealogy Forum is the closest to HALLAHAN that I can find.

Ahah, here is an actual board for your surname ... HALLAHAN MessageBoard at RootsWeb

Tip: You can attach one photograph (preferably a .jpg file) per journal here at FamilyTreeCircles in the space provided.

Good luck,
EDITOR.
