My family Fry from NC and your family Fry from PA both link back to Marti Frey born in about 1515 in Switzerland. His son Jorg Frey had many Children. Our lines merge with him. The two children are Hans Henerick Fry born in Switzerland in 1583. His g son Hans Pieter Frey came to the US in the 1740s and settled in NC. His son John Valentine Frey served as a carpenter in George Washington's Army. The other brother Jacob Frey was born same place. His g son Hans Henerick Frey Jr. was born in Altenheim, Alsace, Germany, a town that is now part of France in 17 Jun 1663. He died in Frederick, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA in 1734. His wife was Anna Catherine LEVERING. While it is true that my John Valentine Frey moved to PA to receive land there for payment for war services, he said it was too cold so moved back to North Carolina. As far as I can find out all Fr(e)y s that were born in PA re related to Hans Jr., your Fry ancestor. By the way Frey in Swiss means Free so our ancestors were free men not serfs. You might try Find a grave and type in the name John Fry

Phillip, Thank you for your imput, but there is a very big gap in the dates form 1734 and 1885. I, also, do not understand what you mean by "find a grave". You have to forgive me but I am a novice, so new to this that I don't know where to begin. Again thanks for the information. I will keep it and see if it matches up down the road. Shirley
