I am searching for information about the parents of Ellen Gamble who came to Australia aboard the Orient in 1840, arriving on December 13th in company with her sister Mary. Ellen and Mary were bond servants bound for employment there. Ellen was 17 years of age and Mary 19 years.
Ellen married Thomas Gamble and lived and died in Colac Victoria.
Mary's marriage certificate states that her mother's name was Johanna and her father Edward - a saddler. They came from Tipperary in Ireland. There are many parishes in Tipperary and it has been very difficult to narrow down the search for the parents of these sisters.
If anyone can shed any light on this search I would be happy to hear from them
