George Boxley HOLMAN was born 04 Jun 1811 London England UK. He was Christened 23-7-1811 Old Church St. Pancras London UK.
He married Sarah YOUNG 05 Mar 1837 at St. Mary?s Steps Exeter Devon UK. She was born about 1818 at Marlow Devonshire UK. George worked as a Carpenter for all of his life.
They had three children :
Ann Agnes HOLMAN born 1838 Devonshire UK.
George HOLMAN 1842
Alfred James HOLMAN Camden Middlesea England.

It is interesting to follow the Census records that showed how they moved around the London area for work.

1841 census HO 107/685-16 page 11 has George aged 30, a carpenter living at Chapel Street St Pancras Marylebone London and his wife Sarah aged 20 and daughter Ann 18 month old.

1851 sensus HO 107\1496 page 926-2 has George living at number 3 Union Street St Pancras Marylebone London aged 39 with wife Sarah aged 32 with daughter Ann aged 11, son George aged 7 and son Alfred aged 2. Also in the house were 70 year old carpenter George Smale a carpenter and his wife Elizabeth aged 68.

1861 census RG 9/132 page 2 has George living at number 4 Southampton Terrace St. Mary?s Islington Finsbury, aged 49 with his wife Sarah aged 42, son George aged 19 and working as a Shopman at Butterman?s, and son Alfred aged 12 working as a Hatter.

Next door at number 3 was a Henry HOLMAN aged 34 a plumber and painter with his wife Lucy A. aged 29 and daughter Emily aged 5. In the house with them was a Muriel Brown aged 65 a bag maker, Narriel Brown (daughter) aged 30 a needlewoman, Emma Brown aged 22 a shoemakers forewoman, Joseph Brown aged 4, Hannah Clarke aged 54 a nurse and domestic, Henry Tristram aged 48 an engineer and surveyor with his wife Jane aged 47 and his son Francis aged 32 a house decorator.
I assume Henry Holman may be a younger brother for George and that they were all together to work at a common site.

1871 census RG 10/213 p 21. Has George aged 59 living at number 5 Bidboro Street St. Pancras Marylebone London. with his wife Sarah aged 52 and son Alfred aged 24 and working as a carpenter with his father.
