Hello my name is joan higgins and GWL Higgins is my brick wall.
He was born in Wise Co Texas in 1861. he married eliza Jane Splawn dau of Hansford Splawn in Texas. I have their marriage cert 1882 and Census from Custer co Ok in the 1900 and on. I believe he left Texas in the late 1890 around 1892/3/4. Any information on him would help greatly. family stories say the father died Civil War and his mother may have married a man named baron/brown. He was supposed to have two stepbrothers. the spelling of "baron" is a guess- not known for sure.
