Gilliam-Wilburn Cemetery

Journal by SheilaGail

Gilliam - Wilburn Cemetery
Farris Hill Rd.
Knox County
Gray, KY

I copied each stone as written/legible.
All listings below have been photographed.

+The land on which this cemetery sits was once owned by Madison "Matt" Gilliam, and later belonged to his daughter, Ella Gilliam/Ellsworth/Gerst.
+Matt Gilliam ran a boarding home on this road.
+Ella assisted with it's operation, and her home sat in front of the cemetery.
+Father to Matt: Marion Gilliam lived on Farris Hill Rd.
+Brother to Matt: James Gilliam owned a house at the foot of Farris Hill Rd.

+"Brown Family Cemetery", is listed on a sign by entrance on the left side of Farris Hill. The Brown family has now added their family cemetery beside the Gilliam and Wilburn cemetery with no reference to the original GILLIAM or WILBURN burial grounds.

Hi, Thanks for your post. If this is the correct Wilburn cemetery in Gray, Knox County, KY, then there should be a gravesite for Andrew J. Wilburn, born abt. 1844 and died 26 Jul 1919 and according to his death certificate, he is buried at this cemetery. He is the father of Quincey Wilburn.

Hi jennie43435. A.J.'s gravesite may be one of the unmarked. Quincey was married to my g.g. Aunt, Lavina [Gilliam] Wilburn Mullins
