My maiden name is Haynes and all of my cousins are spelled that way, but my first U.S. ancestor was Denis Hanes, born in Dublin, Ireland in 1815. While many of my cousins have been doing this research, too, none of us has yet found Denis' ancestors,as far as I know. This is why I'm here trying the original spelling of the name that I have seen on the Irish Origins site, where I've seen his birth and street address at the time recorded. As usual, I'm hoping to meet up with someone who might have further information on the Hanes surname in Ireland. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Now it is 1/30/2017 and I'm still waiting to hear from anyone regarding Denis Hanes, as he was listed on his first passage to America.
