unfortunately it does not have her parents listed
her parents were Louis ANDERSON & Annie Olivia HANSEN and they married on 27 December 1884 in New Zealand :)
I will try to find where etc
do you have the full list of their children? or do you need that too

by ngairedith on 2012-12-29 20:05:09

I think Louis & Annie lived in Winton, Invercargill
It is possible Louis had the New River Ferry (or Oreti) Hotel for a time

Thankyou so much for that. I do have the whole Saward family tree, My father was James Campbell Saward . I can give all the details of their children, I have it in booklet form but can copy for you.
Your info from NZ is very helpful as I don't know anything of the NZ part. I do have a photo of Louis & Annie with all of their children except my grandmother,Maybe she was away married when it was taken. I can copy & send later.

I would like to find when they came out from Denmark & who her parents & brothers & sisters were.I was told the whole family migrated to NZ from Copengagen. There must be quite a few relatives in NZ as none ever came to Tasmania that I know of. I knew her when I was child. I was about 7 when she died. I remember her as a lovely old lady & she lived with my grandparents for a time & also one of my great uncles.
I have found a death notice for her in TROVE archives held in the national library. They have copies of old newspapers up to 1954' Trove is a very good website .If you need any info let me know. Thanks Marj

Thankyou again for all your help. Much appreciated. Regards Marj

by ngairedith on 2012-12-30 00:32:59

thank you Marj,
that could help as there were 5 Louis Anderson in New Zealand around the same time and at least 4 of those were in the Canterbury & Otago areas!!! so really no way to find out who was who - could still be a bit of an effort...

how come Christina Olivia married in 1904 in Tasmanaia and yet her parents did not go over until 1907? and as you said "with their 15 children"
As it was Christina was only 15 when she married so was she living there and met Louis Saward?? or did they meet in NZ and go over early??

also please, do you have Cliff's war serial number as I cannot find him in the AIF at this time and his birth in NZ (under that name) is not recorded (dying in Feb 1934 aged 52 means he was probably born about 1881)

by eleanor863 on 2012-12-30 02:47:56

Her father was Louis Anderson from Tasmania,so she probably came over to visit Anderson Family & met with my Grandfather Louis Saward She was married in 1904 in Tasmania. The book tells me They met at Arthur River Far north west coast of Tasmania where she worked at the Ford homestead.
I will copy their story for you later & send.

I will try to find Cliffs serial No. I didn't know him.He died before my time.I was born 1945.
If I can help let me know. I've found a lot of info on TROVE. Thats where I found Cliff. I had not heard of him,but will look up some more. Regards Marj

Another interesting bit found on TROVE Seems most of the early Andersons were born at Cullenswood.Near St Mary's I think. When I get down that way will see what I can find out from locals.

Hi, my ancestor is Lewis Anderson who married Annie Olivia Hansen. In my old 1930 family tree, I have her incorrectly as Annie Olivia Hans. I have corrected this. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hansen-3223

According to my tree, this was his second marriage and they had seven sons and seven daughters together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to add these sons and daughters and their descendants to my family tree.

Hi I am the great grand daughter of Annie and Louis Anderson. My Grandfather was William Anderson. I have information regarding Annie's mother which traces back to Germany if anyone is interested. Her father was Hans Hansen. I have also read the notes above and can add that Louis was married to a woman who died, then his three children also died in an accident and that caused him to go to NZ where he met his second wife Annie who was from Denmark.
