According to the 1881 census Harriet was living with John and Jane Stanway (?parents)at The Moor, Biddulph. I have been unable to trace her birth but believe she may actually have been born Harriet Nixon and married into the family (?widowed) although she is stated as being a daughter of John and Jane. Living in the same home were John and Jane's grandchildren, Job aged 10 and Mary A aged 8. I am unable to trace their parents and wonder if Harriet was in fact their mother.

william stanway married mary taylor. their son was Job Stanway, who married Ann Sherratt. They then had William stanway (son) who married Jane Beech. They had 11 children together. I am a direct descendant of Job also. Naomi

Hi

I think I have a different person as I am also trying to link Job & Mary A to Harriet. The Job Stanway that I am researching married a Emma Loton and had children including Elizabeth (my grandmother) I have been trying to find out who Job's parents are as I know that is grandparents (who he lived with when he was growing up) were John and Jane Stanway.

Have you since managed to find anything about this?
