Harris

Query by Niecy

My grandfather William Alvin Harris b 1897 d 1993 lived his life in NJ was b in New Sharon. He does not have a birth cert. His mother was Anna and father William who later she married a Hedrick and he married Mary and had a son named Edgar in 1912. All I can find is in the 1930 census and in the last month lost my grandfather last 2 sons and makes me want to see if there are any more Harris's out there also to complete his family as it has always been a mystery. My mom said Edgar worked for a nursery that was off the highway close by where she grew up in Titusville and he married a retired school teacher Mary/Marion, I was wondering is anyone might have any clues. Thanks.

Hi, Yes is right family in both thank you. I have all of my grandfathers info like this and his death cert and enlist paper which he lied abt age to get in early. Marriage cert. The only living one now is my mom who is Bernice E. I also found William his father m to Mary where he had kids in 1930 census. My issue still is Anna his mother who is sister to Martha they both were Hebden/Hebdin married into the Hedrick family in PA. I still wonder if Anna was married to my grandfather's father. Thank you for your reply.

Martha was his aunt he was close to her more than his mom and always called her aunt Marty I saw that once and wondered abt it seems logical but he always puts his moms name as Anna and then Martha (Marty) who lived a very long life was in a nurseing home in PA when my grandfather was in hospice in 1983. I have pics of Martha.
